The Oscars! I didn't watch, I don't have a TV, and all I really care about is the fashion. Instead I spent far too long studying all of the looks online after the fact.
My top two favorite looks of the evening:
Rachel McAdams, in Elie Saab Haute Couture, and Nicole Richie, in Reem Acra:
This dress is just out of control pretty. I love the print, the color, the cut, the structure of the top, the way it flows. Oh Rachel (Rachel's stylist), good job.
And Nicole's! So different from all the other dresses on the red carpet, and I think it is really stunning. I also have always been a huge Nicole Richie style fan, and I really like the way this looks on her, the lines and the draping, the high neck and low back, I love her eye make-up as well.
It seems like everyone else had a huge dress with a train, and peachy, pinky, nude hues ran rampant.
A few more of my faves:
I was a little conflicted about putting Demi's up as a fave, but I really love the color and the structure on the top of her dress, great shoes too. Cameron's and Amanda's are both super glamorous in different ways, I must say I would die to try on Amanda's Armani, it looks like so much fun.
Amanda Seyfried, in Armani Privé; Cameron Diaz, in Oscar de la Renta, with Cartier jewels; Demi Moore, in Atelier Versace, with Van Cleef & Arpels jewels, a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch, and Versace shoes.
It's hard to tell in this picture, but SJP's gown was the most beautiful light yellow. I love the way Sandy's shimmers (yes, Sandy), and the bold, painterly print on Maggie G's.
Sarah Jessica Parker, in Chanel Haute Couture, with Fred Leighton jewels and Nicholas Kirkwood shoes; Sandra Bullock, in Marchesa, with Neil Lane jewels and a Celestina clutch; Maggie Gyllenhaal, in Dries Van Noten, with Fred Leighton jewels.
