I got my prom tux at Target...

When I heard Zac Posen was to be the latest addition to the Target Go International collection I was incredibly excited.  In my opinion the Gaultier collection was an utter bomb, and while Liberty of London did serve me well (I got a swimsuit and a wallet I completely love), it was somewhat hit or miss, as these things often are.  The previews of the Zac Posen collection are promising, but nothing can be determined until you actually feel and try to wear these things, as often when attempting to make a designer look at a Target price the quality of fabric and fit are the first to go.

But, what is really cool, and totally Posen about the collection (totally Posen?  Sorry, who says that???) is it's strong statement of individuality. Not only does the collection boast Target's first ever floor length gown, it also showcases a mini-dress with removable ruffle, and a tux in the style of YSL.  Right on time, Posen's collection features numerous prom styles - for everyone:

“Lesbian proms have been such a big thing in the news lately," Posen told Teen Vogue,  "Rather than create a fake subculture, I wanted to address things that are actually happening... It’s a kick-ass girl who can wear a tuxedo to prom! Don’t be afraid of drama... Prom is one of the few opportunities in life when you can fulfill any romantic desires you have. And, there’s no prenup attached to it.”

The Posen collection for Go International hits Target stores on April 25th, you can find all the looks here, at Fasionista.

What a lovely blog! I agree that these collaborations tend to be hit or misses, I'm hoping this one proves me wrong. That floor length dress is pretty :)
